We are John & Anne Kirwan, a Western Australian couple who started our Bromeliad journey with the purchase of a single Bromeliad from our local Garden Club and “fell” for these unusual plants.

We registered as Miatia Investments in 1999 and started collecting and growing our own Bromeliads until, 7 years later, our rear garden  has been transformed from fence-line garden beds and lawn to 5 shadehouses full of Bromeliads and a very small piece of grass, a concession to our two small dogs and the clothes hoist.

Miatia Bromeliads was registered in 2006, supplying mostly Neoregelias but we have since diversified to include selling many varieties of Vriesea, Aechmea and Tillandsias to the public and nurseries, at very competitive prices.

Our production nursery is currently growing many varieties of Bromeliads, including Alcantareas.

We continue to import new overseas varieties from our Eastern States suppliers.
